The geography of our country offers the possibility to choose in terms of suitability, between different types of MEAs such as the American and Israeli MALE UAVs, which were selected by the U.S.to assist in airborne control, TACTICAL UAVs used in the USSR, and modern designs that incorporate past experiences and innovate, such as the European LOTUS (Low Observable Tactical Unmanned System).The comparisons reveal the following interesting advantages of the TACTICAL class over the MALE UAVs:It is worth mentioning the LOTUS program in a little more detail, as the amount of its funding is close to € 10 million and it is part of the European Defense Industrial Development Program (EDIDP).The program includes the study, development, prototype construction and control of the system and aims to develop the competitiveness and capacity of the EU defense industry.to produce innovative systems.The LOTUS proposal was evaluated by European Union experts and approved by representatives of the Ministries of Defense of its Member States.
