Here are the full patch notes for Warzone Pacific’s September 2 update that nerfed Serpentine and improved the Gas Mask toggle.

Warzone devs Raven Software dropped a new update on September 2 bringing the highly-anticipated Serpentine nerf, improvements to the Gas Mask, a Supply Box UAV buff, and bug fixes. Here are the full Warzone September 2 update patch notes.

Warzone Pacific Season 5 is the final season ahead of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, but that didn’t stop Raven Software from bringing even more quality-of-life improvements to the game.

On top of the highly-requested Gas Mask toggle feature, the devs brought an initial nerf to Serpentine with a second change confirmed for later in the season. That second nerf arrived with the September 2 update, alongside adjustments to the Operation: Last Call mode, changes to the 8-Bit EX1 Blueprint, and improved the new Gas Mask mechanics.

Here are the full September 2 patch notes for Warzone Season 5.

Warzone players have been fighting against Serpentine ever since it arrived, and the devs have nerfed it a couple of times now. Players still didn’t feel it was enough, so with Season 5’s September 2 update, Serpentine will only work while Tactical Sprinting.

The devs “expect that this change, along with the existing hard counters that are available in “Frangible – Disabling” and the VG gunperk “Disable” will result in both a more consistent engagement experience and encourage further exploration of weapon builds.”

This limited-time, Heroes-versus-Villains-themed Mode is currently live and available for all Players to experience until September 14th. We’ve made a couple of small adjustments that we think will help improve the experience:

We’ve seen positive reactions to the “8-Bit Warfare” Mastercraft Bundle and the included “NOCLIP” EX1 (VG) Blueprint. That said, we’ve also heard feedback that Players have found the overlaid, low-framerate retro gaming filter to be overwhelming and, in some cases, even causing nausea. We have therefore made a change to remove this filter so that the Blueprint still looks 8-bit but plays like a glorious modern day Weapon.

We’ve updated Serpentine to now only be in effect during Tactical Sprint instead of regular Sprint. We expect that this change, along with the existing hard counters that are available in “Frangible – Disabling” and the VG Gunperk “Disable” will result in both a more consistent engagement experience and encourage further exploration of weapon builds.

We have the dates and times for the next CoD: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific Double XP event to help you rank up weapons and the Battle Pass.

Season 5 is finally here, and there’s plenty of time to level up, prestige, and unlock weapons before Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Here are the full dates for the next Warzone and Vanguard Double XP weekends.

XP has been a vital component of Call of Duty’s multiplayer for many years. It’s the quintessential upgrade mechanic that allows you to increase your in-game level and provide you access to better gear, attachments, and the best weapons.

Vanguard and Warzone Pacific carried on from where Cold War and Warzone left off by giving players limited-time windows of opportunity to increase the XP they can earn.

Call of Duty players can get Double XP by taking advantage of the Double XP promotional events that Activision put on.

Fortunately, there’s a Double XP event live until September 8, and more to come throughout the rest of the month. Thanks to the Raven Software Trello board, we know when the next Warzone & Vanguard Double XP events are:

The Max Double XP event offers every kind of XP bonus possible, giving players a nice boost in Vanguard & Warzone’s Season 5. It’ll be especially useful in completing the Battle Pass, unlocking the new weapons, and then leveling up the EX1 and RA 225 as fast as possible.

Here’s a full list of the usual Double XP event’s start time & dates in some of the key timezones:

These special Double XP events usually occur during a weekend, as it naturally gives players the most time as it’s away from school hours and generally when people are off work.

Here are the attachments, Perks, and Equipment to make the best ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle loadout in Warzone Pacific Season 5.

The ZRG 20mm is an extremely powerful Sniper Rifle, and you can use the right attachments, Perks, and Equipment to make the best loadout for it in Warzone Pacific Season 5.

Warzone Pacific players that prefer to pick off their enemies from a distance should go with a Sniper Rifle, and the game features a wide selection to choose from.

The ZRG 20mm boasts impressive high bullet velocity and is capable of dishing out large amounts of damage. We’ll go over the best attachments, Perks, and equipment to make the best loadout for it in Warzone Pacific Season 5.

We’ll start this loadout with the Wrapped Suppressor muzzle and 43.9″ Combat Recon barrel to improve the ZRG 20mm Sniper Rifle’s damage range and bullet velocity.

Next, we’ll go with the Serpent Wrap handle to further increase this Warzone weapon’s ADS speed at the cost of some Sprint to Fire time. However, you won’t have to worry about that too much when using a Sniper Rifle.

We went with the 5 Rnd magazine so that the weapon has plenty of ammo to eliminate multiple foes. Finally, we’ll cap off this loadout with the SWAT 5mw Laser Sight to give another boost to ADS speed.

Having extra protection against explosives is never a bad thing, so using E.O.D. will allow you to tank hits from a Semtex or C4. Using Overkill will allow you to carry Assault Rifle or SMG in addition to the ZRG, and Amped ensures instantaneous weapon swapping.

As for Equipment, the Stim will grant you a health boost while the Throwing Knife can be used to finish off downed enemies without wasting your ammo.

To get this weapon for the best Warzone ZRG loadout, you’ll need to complete a challenge that requires you to “Earn 2 Longshot medals in 10 different matches using Sniper Rifles.” The gun is available in Black Ops Cold War as well.

You’ll need to be careful about leaving the match too early after earning 2 Longshot Medals, as it might not count. For a more detailed walkthrough, you can check out our guide on unlocking the ZRG 20mm.

The HDR is a great alternative to the ZRG 20mm because of its impressive ADS speed, strong rotational aim assist on controller, and ability to one-shot headshot players during long-range combat situations.

The LW3 – Tundra is also worth checking out after it received a ton of damage buffs in the Season 5 update.
