According to the patent, the system is designed for short- and medium-range fixed-wing drones. The device can be installed on the runway of any helicopter carrier.

During the landing of a UAV, a boom with a grip is extended outside the deck and ‘catches’ the drone in the air at the right angle. To launch the drone, the boom is extended either towards the open sea or parallel to the longitudinal axis of the ship, preventing any collision with superstructure elements.

According to the presentation video, thanks to stabilization, the boom is able to maintain a fixed direction and position in space at a roll angle of -10 to +10 degrees and waves of 2 to 6 m.

The rotation angle of the boom in the horizontal plane is 250 degrees, the maximum distance between the holders of the wing capture system is 240 cm.

The Admiral Nakhimov Higher Naval School is a higher naval education institution of Russia which prepares future officers for the Russian Navy. It was created in the basis of both the Black Sea Red Banner Higher Naval Institute "Admiral Pavel Nakhimov" and the Higher Naval Engineer Institute of Sevastopol.
